Yukon artists facing serious health or family issues can access financial support through the Yukon Artists Relief Fund.
The Yukon Artists Relief Fund offers financial support to professional visual artists in Yukon facing serious health or family challenges.
Established in 2009, this charity provides short-term assistance of up to $2,000.
Director Mary-Jane Warshawski highlighted the fund's impact, supporting artists with medical expenses, recovery, and therapy.
“We have had artists with cancer who have not been able to afford the extra cost of going to Vancouver for chemo therapy. We’ve had artists that had heart attacks that couldn’t walk and this money is just to help with some groceries and pay this month rent until they can figure out other options,” Warshawski said.

The fund relies on events like Art Anonymous, showcasing 58 anonymous artworks by Yukon artists at The Old Firehall on October 19th at 7 pm, to continue providing vital support to artists in need.
Tickets can be bought at the Yukon Artist Relief website.
