The Yukon Department of Education has announced a new online registration process for school bus service for the upcoming 2025-26 school year.
Starting this year, families are required to register their students online at yukon.ca/bus by July 1, 2025. The online registration process is mandatory, and families must register their students annually.
To be eligible for school bus service, students must live more than 3.2 kilometres from their school and attend their attendance area school.
Additionally, City bus pass registration is set to open in mid-June, providing students with an alternative transportation option. Students can register for either the school bus or a city bus pass, but dual registrations are not permitted.
As per a media release, Standard Bus Yukon has committed to ensuring sufficient school bus drivers are available each year, offering competitive wages, flexible work hours, and opportunities for skill development.
