Liberals tell the YP to pump their brakes as they have only spent $34,000.
The Opposition Yukon Party says taxpayers could be left with a $400,000 bill for the Liberals Cabinet renovations.
In January, a cost estimate for various renovations came to roughly $400,000.
Lake Laberge MLA Brad Cathers questions with future deficits forecasted, should the government be entertaining expensive renovations?
The Liberals confirm the only improvements to Cabinet Offices were new paint and carpet, costing roughly $14,000.
One significant renovation was to move the receptionist behind a secure barrier for safety reasons. That cost $20,000.
Cathers was in Cabinet when the government installed locked doors to prevent public access to Cabinet Offices.
The Liberals say they sought a cost estimate for several renovations, but have only acted on paint and carpet.
