The second installment of Yukon Girls Rock Camp is taking place in Riverdale this week. It wraps up on Saturday at Epic Pizza with a showcase.
The Girls Rock Camp Alliance is an international membership of more than 80 youth-centered arts and social justice organizations started in 1991.
The Yukon girls rock Camp is a division of the Dawson City Music Fest since 2015 and has expanded into Whitehorse this year.
Lana Welshman is an instructor with the camp and has been teaching the girls more than just musicianship.
Lana is mentoring the group that has formed called the Burning Bats, consisting of Sophia, Annika and Alaya. Their song seems heavily influenced by sibling rivalry.
The other group from this camp known as the Dreamcatchers worked on their musical partnership and stage techniques.

Both groups will be performing their original songs at Epic Pizza starting at 3 pm, all are welcome to attend.
