The Whitehorse Street Eats Festival commenced Monday at 11 am and will conclude Friday at 7 pm.
The Whitehorse Street Eats Festival got underway yesterday next to Whitehorse City Hall. The food trucks got setup to offer a variety of local Whitehorse cuisine. Dozens of food vendors on both sides of Steele Street are on show for residents who want to savor local cuisine from hotdogs, to tacos to delicious doughnuts.
The festival will be open Monday, August 13th to Friday August, 17. Each day the festival will be open from 11 am to 7 pm.
Until August 17th, Steele Street will be closed between Front Street and 2nd avenue. The parkade at Steele St and 2nd avenue will remain open during the event.
If you're interested in submitting a vendor application for the event, you can visit http://www.whitehorse.ca/departments/planning-building-services/plans-and-implementation/food-vendors.
The Whitehorse Street Eats Festival started out with the idea of promoting local food vendors in the downtown core without having to compromise money by building a store. The sites are utilized in the spring when a lottery process begins.
