RCMP say four vehicles around Whitehorse have been stolen since December 1st when drivers left their vehicles unattended with keys still inside their car.
Whitehorse RCMP are reminding the public to secure their vehicles after conducting investigations into several stolen vehicle complaints.
RCMP say four unattended vehicles have been stolen since December 1st when drivers either left their keys inside their ignition or inside their car.
RCMP says thieves often check door handles and check for personal cash valuables and keys through car windows.
To prevent thefts, RCMP say keys and valuables should be left out of cars or out of sight and that drivers should remain inside their vehicles when starting up and warming their vehicles.
Other recommendations include making sure your vehicle is locked even if a remote starter is installed and to never leave children or pets unattended in a running vehicle.
