The Whitehorse RCMP has charged a 39-year-old woman in connection with a June 7, 2025, collision involving a hand cyclist on the Alaska Highway in Whitehorse.
Darryl Tait was struck from behind by an SUV while training on his handcycle, sustaining serious injuries.
According to the Police media release, Ashley Kirkpatrick, also known as Ashley Godin, has been charged with driving carelessly, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and operating an unregistered vehicle.
Kirkpatrick is scheduled to appear in court on December 2, 2025. The RCMP thanked witnesses and members of the public who assisted Tait at the scene, the release said.
