The October edition of the printed magazine is out for the public readership.
The new October edition to Shakat Journal continues to revamp the old publication with it's title, "Honouring the Truth: Reconciling the Future"
Over the summer, the Shakat team and youth from first nations in Yukon, as well as media students from Carleton University took a journey from Whitehorse to Moosehide in a KDFN dug out canoe.
The River Nation journey made stops along the route to learn traditional ways such as land based healing and First Nations Governance.
Editor of the print magazine, Paige Hopkins tells CHON news that mandate for the magazine is "Essentially to share the voices of youth. So if there is a story someone wants to tell or views or perceptions that they want to share, then we want to be able share that in this magazine. In doing that, we can advance and work towards reconciliation"

The magazine, can be picked up for free around Yukon, and at the Shakat office located inside Yukon Apparel at 404 Ogilvie.
Contributions or questions can be sent onto Paige via e-mail, Paige@Shakat.ca
