A back to school safety fair is taking place in Shipyards park in Whitehorse today.

The Back to School School Safety Fair is happening now at Shipyards Park. From 10 am to 3 pm, the free event will showcase community booths regarding ATV safety, bus safety, fire safety, child car seat safety, and road safety.

Schools in the Whitehorse schools will commence after Discovery Day on Tuesday, August 21 and finish on Friday, June 14, 2019.
For rural schools, first and last days of the school year may differentiate between each school.

Drivers are reminded to not exceed 30 Kilometres/ hour in designated school zones within municipal limits of the Yukon during school hours.
