The federal Gas Tax Fund will help boast two 8.25 million dollar installments to communities around Yukon this year. The Carcross/Tagish First Nations will enjoy a new and upgraded pool and improved access to aquatic activities for families and seniors. Multi-use trails in the City of Whitehorse will also be upgraded.
Drinking water, recreation and local roads are the primary initiatives for funding this year unfer the fund.
The gas tax will flow through all 14 First Nations territories in Yukon. Substantial investments include $294,881 to the Carcross/Tagish First Nation, $458,703 to the Champagne and Aishihik First Nation, and $827,711 to the City of Dawson.
