The Millennium Trail will have a small portion of it decommissioned and reclaimed and the trail will be diverted onto a by pass of the area, too close to the river.
A small portion of the Millennium Trail will be closed down, the city announced today.
Just north of Selkirk Pump house in the forested area of Riverdale, the trail is eroding and becoming dangerously close to the embankment of the Yukon River.
Parks crew will work to re-route a section of trail affected by erosion.
Reclamation work on the decommissioned portion of the trail will also take place.
The city asks that people obey signs posted in the area over the next 2 weeks while this work is being finished.
