Trent University Student Alyssa Sgro is currently conducting a Contaminants and Human Health study in Old Crow.
Residents four years and older are invited to partake in the study occurring everyday until Friday from 9am-12pm and 1pm and 4pm at the John Tizya Centre, and the study is aiming to investigate levels and sources of contaminant exposure to people in Old Crow, as well as to investigate the balances between risks and benefits from traditional foods.
Participants will receive a 25$ gift card as gratuity at either the local Co-op or Air North, and the study involve a food questionaire, a participants hair sample, and a health messages survey.
The results will be returned to each participant within 12 months of the sampling.
