Mine expected to hire 400 construction jobs and 800 mining jobs.
A proposal for an open-pit mine southeast of Ross River is now entering the public review stage.
The Yukon Environmental and Socio-Economic Assessment Board says the 7000-page proposal for the Kudz Ze Kayah mine is sufficient.
The mine located south of Finlayson Lake, near the Wolverine Mine will focus on production of copper, lead and zinc.
It is expected that 400 jobs will be created for the construction phase and 800 jobs in the operation of the mine.
The mine will have a life expectancy of 10 years. The mine could be in operation by 2021.
