Community has been without a church since 2009.
A group of volunteers in Old Crow are spearheading a project to rebuild that community's church.
The current church has been deemed unsafe for use, following the discovery of the foundation rotting in 2009.
The group who cannot use government money for the project is planning on salvaging the materials from the old northern store for new build.
Howard Linklater says the group is now looking for more volunteers to help with the project.
“We do have a men's group that meets once a week. That's how we're going to start the process. Start the planning in the men's group. Whenever we do call a meeting, we encourage as many people to attend.”
Linklater says the two older churches and the church bell will eventually be restored, with the priority now, having a place of worship.
