The 4.2 magnitude shaker struck at 1:56 AM local time Friday.
An earthquake near the extreme northwestern tip of B-C has been felt over a wide area of Yukon and Alaska.
The Geological Survey of Canada says the 4.2 magnitude shaker hit at 1:56 this morning.
It was centred about 77 kilometres west-north-west of Skagway, Alaska -- which puts it in the area of remote Tatshenshini-Alsek Provincial Park.
Seismologists say the quake was felt from Elfin Cove, Alaska -- near the northern tip of the Alaska Panhandle -- all the way to Whitehorse, but there are no reports of damage and none would be expected. (CP)
