A celebration of life is occurring at 2pm this afternoon at the Yukon Convention Centre for former pilot and Whitehorse resident Shawn Thomas Kitchen.
Kitchen, along with 33-year-old geologist and passenger Julia Lane, were killed in a plane crash on August 6th after their Cessna airplane crashed near Mayo Lake when it was en-route to Mayo.
Shortly after the crash, tributes poured in from Premier Sandy Silver and other Yukoners for the victims.
The Transportation Safety Board initiated an investigation into the incident earlier this month, however no details on the cause of the crash have been released as of yet.
