Canadian Mushers Michelle Phillips and Hans Gatt are in second and third place behind American Brent Sass as they close in on the Dawson City Checkpoint in the 2019 Yukon Quest.
Michelle Phillips made the biggest gains in the race so far on Day three, and she elected to keep moving past Scroggie Creek later on on Day three to move past other mushers Hans Gatt and Brent Sass to take the lead.
Brent Sass regained some trail heading into day four and now is the person first to reach the Dawson City Checkpoint on day four, the halfway point of the race.
Leading Racers will now face a big elevation gain as they head past Dawson, climbing almost 1000 meters as they approach the Alaskan Border.
