Age Identification Blitz

Altered image to represent the Yukon campaign to curb underage drinking.

The yukon campaign has aged 5 years.

There is a new standard to the Check 25, a campaign created to keep retailers and establishment employees vigilant on checking ID's, for anyone seemingly under 25.

Even though the legal age to purchase and consume alcohol is 19, the new campaign of CHECK 30 is underway.

Last year the blitz checked 137 people to find that none of them were underage.

Dr. Brendan Hanley, Yukon’s Chief Medical Officer of Health says, "Drinking alcohol as a teenager carries special risks. If you do choose to drink, delaying until legal age or beyond will protect your brain and keep you safer. Liquor inspections and I.D. checks can help to curb risky drinking."

Be sure to carry your government issued ID with you if were born in 1988 or have that youthful gleam.
