Whitehorse, Beaver Creek and Northway AK hosting polls ahead of September 9th election.
Advance Polls are taking place this week for the White River First Nation election. The Whitehorse Poll is today, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
at the Yukon Inn in the Willow Room. In Beaver Creek on Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Community Hall.
Two people are running for Chief. Incumbent Angela Demit and former Chief David Johnny Sr. will square off for the top job.
Four people are running for the two Northern Tutchone Councillor positions and Charles Eikland Sr. and Patrick Johnny will be acclaimed as the two Upper Tanana Councillors.
Final voting will take place in Whitehorse September 7th and in Beaver Creek on Election Day September 9, during the General Assembly.
