The meeting Friday in Whitehorse of approximately 25 people was to discuss how 750 million dollars in compensation the federal government has put on the table to be divided between qualified individual claimants.
A handout was circulated from the Merchant Law group, as well local lawyer Dan Shier (sheer) outlined his firms position on litigation.
There are several legal avenues Yukon claimants could follow and its up to each individual survivor how they want to proceed.
The 60's scoop refers to the practice of Canadian governments taking indigenous children from their families and placing them in foster homes or for adoption in non-native homes.
