Yukon Government COVID-19 Update - Sep 2 2020

Although there are no confirmed active cases in the territory, Yukoners are encouraged to remain vigilant and continue following the Safe Six practices to protect yourself and others from contracting a spreading COVID-19.

Yukon Premier Sandy Silver announced that the COVID-19 case count for Yukon remains at 15. Everyone has recovered and we have tested more than 2,600 people.

The Yukon Business Relief Program will continue in partnership with CanNor’s Northern Business Relief Fund. Businesses can apply for support for both or either of these programs through the Government of Yukon.

The territory-wide Community Wellbeing Survey is closing on September 6. The results of the survey will provide a territory-wide snapshot of Yukoners’ wellbeing and generate needed data to support informed decision making. The COVID-specific questions at the start of the survey will be used to inform next steps in the pandemic response. Visit yukon.ca for more information.

Yukoners are reminded that if you choose to go past the Canadian border station at Fraser or Beaver Creek, you must be aware of the federal rules for re-entering Canada at the time of your departure. If you cross into Alaska, you will be subject to these federal rules, which include a mandatory 14-day quarantine. These rules are applied equally at all official border crossings and points of international arrivals across Canada, and you must follow the directions given to you by the Canadian Border Services Agency and the Public Health Agency of Canada.
