Dawson City and the Klondike Visitors Association (KVA) have some sad news for people who like to gamble...The ONLY casino North of 60 Diamond Tooth Gerties is closing indefinitely.
A spokesperson for KVA says While the outlook for the 2020 summer tourism season seems dismal, they are doing their best to remain optimistic.... and have not ruled out the possibility of operating the cancan show sometime during the 2020 season.
This mornings news release says, Gerties employs about 75 seasonal workers in Dawson, and the business invests over $3 million dollars directly into the economy every season.
