OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced this morning that Canada is now denying entry to nearly everyone who isn’t a Canadian citizen or permanent resident but Americans are exempt from that ban at this point.
The Prime Minister held a press conference from the lawn of his house In Ottawa (under self-imposed quarantine after his wife tested positive to the COVID-19 virus returning from a speaking engagement in Great Britain earlier).
Trudeau said the reason for the decision is the level of integration between Canada and the United States on senior government levels.
Mr. Trudeau tried to ensure Canadians that governments will be working continuously on ensuring that Canadians are being kept safe and that the necessary goods keep flowing across our borders.
