The clinic, located at 106 Lambert Street, will utilize the existing River Valley Medical Clinic space and serve approximately 2,000 new patients over the next two years.
The Yukon government has signed a Letter of Intent with Alliance Health to operate a primary care clinic in Whitehorse, aiming to reduce waitlists and improve access to healthcare.
The clinic, located at 106 Lambert Street, will utilize the existing River Valley Medical Clinic space and serve approximately 2,000 new patients over the next two years. Alliance Health will manage the clinic and recruit up to four nurse practitioners, with the government supporting the effort.
According to a media release, the clinic is expected to begin operating on May 1, 2026, and will incorporate existing physicians, including Dr. Shahid Ali Syed, Dr. Anne-Marie LeBlanc, and Dr. Emily Budd. Alliance Health co-founder Michelle McCulloch says the partnership will improve access to primary care and support team-based care.
"This advances a key government mandate commitment to improve Yukoners' access to frontline health care services," says Minister of Health and Social Services Brad Cathers.
