CHON-FM Indigenous Radio, a not-for-profit society founded in 1984, is seeking a qualified Marketing Manager.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Marketing Manager is responsible for the overall daily oversight of advertising sales, promotions, and sponsorships. This requires maintaining strong relationships with clients and partners, and working in collaboration with the CHON-FM team. A successful Marketing Manager can think strategically to achieve the CHON-FM mandate to serve Yukon’s 14 First Nations. The ideal candidate has patience, organization, communication, and leadership skills.
Required Experience, Education and Knowledge:
- A degree or diploma in Marketing, Advertising or Communications, or equivalent experience;
- Experience leading a department or major projects, especially in the non-profit sector;
- Firm knowledge of advertising best practices;
- Knowledge of internet and multi-media advertising;
- Experience securing sponsorships for special events;
- Experience training and mentoring junior staff.
Additional areas of knowledge and skill required for this position:
- Knowledge of radio or media culture;
- Knowledge of software tools such as Summit, Excel;
- Ability to thrive under the guidance of a philosophical mandate that includes advancing corporate priorities, not just bringing in revenues;
- Familiarity with Yukon First Nations culture;
- Flexible and solution-oriented.
Compensation:
