Chief Superintendent Lindsay Ellis has been appointed as the Commanding Officer of the Yukon RCMP, effective immediately.
This promotion brings her to the rank of Chief Superintendent, and she's already been acting in this role since September 2024.
With over 12 years of policing experience in the Yukon, Chief Superintendent Ellis has built a strong reputation for her focus on public safety, modernization of policing services, and increased accountability. She's fostered genuine relationships with Yukon First Nations and diverse groups, promoting collaboration and communication across the territory.
Minister of Justice Tracy-Anne McPhee congratulated Chief Superintendent Ellis on her appointment, recognizing her exceptional work ethic, forward-thinking approach, and outstanding leadership. As the first female Commanding Officer for the M Division of the Yukon RCMP, Chief Superintendent Ellis is a trailblazer and an inspiration.

The Government of Yukon and the RCMP also extended their gratitude to outgoing Commanding Officer Chief Superintendent Scott Sheppard for his many years of service.
