The opening occurred at 11 am today.
Dozens of people lined up outside the Cannabis Yukon store this morning for the grand opening at 11am at 120B Industrial Road.
12 people were allowed into the store at one given time, with 120 unique products being offered at the store from 8 different retailers.
Wesley, someone standing in line for the store opening, told CHON News what brought him out to the opening today.
"History, man. It's the end of prohibition. In the 20's and 30's it was alcohol and now it's weed. Canada's making a big step forward today."
Assortment of goods at the store includes pre-rolled cannabis, oil capsules, seeds, and flowers.
For those unable to access the cannabis store in Whitehorse, users can go online at cannabisyukon.org to purchase it online.
