36-year-old woman missing since late May from Pelly Crossing area has been located

Sarah Ruth Kruse has been located

Yukon RCMP reported Friday, July 5 on Twitter that 36-year-old Sarah Ruth Kruse has been located safe and sound.

Mrs. Kruse was last seen in the Carmacks and Pelly Crossing area before she surfaced late last week, she had been reported missing from her property on May 29th.

RCMP won't be releasing more details due to privacy concerns about the case.

The volunteer search effort was one of the largest "in recent history", involving nearly 140 volunteers spending more than 1800 hours searching by ground, air and water over the last month, including search dogs.

The missing person case was turned over to the Yukon RCMP Historical Case Unit (a three-person team that investigates unsolved homicides and missing person cases) after 2 weeks of returning no leads on Mrs. Kruse's whereabouts in mid June.

RCMP spokesperson Coralee Reid confirmed on Friday July 5th that Mrs. Kruse had been located late Friday afternoon in the same area from which she had been reported missing.

RCMP confirmed in June that a search of Kruse's property had revealed "no evidence" to suggest she was still there.
