The initial board will play a critical role in overseeing the transition of health care services and implementing foundational agreements between the Health Authority and its partners.
The Government of Yukon and the Chiefs Committee on Health are now accepting applications for the initial board of Shäw Kwä’a, the Yukon's new Health Authority.
Shäw Kwä’a, meaning "it is all well, it is all good" in Southern Tutchone, aims to provide integrated, person- and family-centred care that is culturally safe and free from racism and discrimination.
The initial board will play a critical role in overseeing the transition of health care services and implementing foundational agreements between the Health Authority and its partners.
Applicants will be assessed based on their competencies, skills, experience, and representation of Yukon's diversity. Applications received by June 10, 2025, will be given priority review.
"We are excited to take this monumental step in building a health system that truly reflects the needs and voices of all Yukoners," said Minister of Health and Social Services Tracy-Anne McPhee.
Chair of the Chiefs Committee on Health Chief Pauline Frost encouraged interested Yukoners, especially Yukon First Nations Citizens and people living in rural communities, to apply.
