Yukon College Partners with the Mastercard Foundation to get 300 more First Nations students into college.
Yukon College is launching a new program indented to help more First Nations people attend post secondary schooling and graduate.
The institution is partnering with the Mastercard Foundation, which is donating $4.6 million, aimed at getting 300 more First Nations students into college over the next five years.
Two positions created to help students in rural Yukon, but the money will also target people coming out of the justice system or government care.
Some of the programming offered will go towards online courses.
The hired staff will assist students with their academics and barriers from keeping them from getting an education.
