The Yukon Coroner’s Service and multiple RCMP units are continuing the investigation, and the cause of death has not yet been determined.
Whitehorse RCMP are investigating a sudden death that occurred shortly after 1 p.m. on November 6, 2025, when a member of the public reported a male lying on the riverbank near Shipyards Park. Emergency Medical Services responded, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a media release, the deceased has been identified as 52‑year‑old Floyd Charlie of Whitehorse. The Police are asking anyone who saw Charlie on November 5 or 6, 2025, to call 867‑667‑5555 and reference file 20251650921.
The dead victim's identity comes just days after a separate incident on the Millennium Trail, where a woman was assaulted between 10:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
On November 8. A 20‑year‑old suspect was arrested on November 9 and is scheduled to appear in Whitehorse court on November 10. Authorities say the two matters are unrelated.
