The plan will cover Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Settlement Land parcels C-13B and C-87FS, and adjoining Government of Yukon-owned land.
A groundbreaking partnership between the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Government and the Government of Yukon is set to shape the future of Dawson with a joint master planning process for four adjacent land parcels.
The collaborative effort combines traditional and western planning approaches, aiming to coordinate development and growth in the rapidly expanding community. The plan will cover Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Settlement Land parcels C-13B and C-87FS, and adjoining Government of Yukon-owned land, aiming for coordinated development.
According to a media release, residents and Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Citizens are invited to share their input on the plan, which will outline land use, infrastructure, and regulatory needs. A consultant will be hired through a joint process, with costs shared equally by both governments, the release said.
