To ensure public safety, we are advising residents to avoid the area on Schwatka Lake for the duration of the two-day training exercise.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) will be conducting training exercises on Schwatka Lake and in the surrounding area on May 14 and 15.
Residents in the area may hear simulated gunfire and witness police dog tracking exercises as part of the training. However, the RCMP assures the public that this is routine training and there is no cause for concern.
"To ensure public safety, we are advising residents to avoid the area on Schwatka Lake for the duration of the two-day training exercise," said an RCMP spokesperson.
The RCMP appreciates the public's understanding and cooperation in this matter. Anyone seeking more information is encouraged to contact the local RCMP detachment.
The training exercises are scheduled to take place on May 14 and 15. Residents are advised to plan accordingly and avoid the area to ensure their safety.
