Tosh Southwick first joined the college back in 2008.
Tosh Southwick has been promoted to the newly-created position of Indigenous Engagement and Reconciliation at Yukon College.
Southwick will support the reconciliation and Indigenization work at the college to empower relationships with Yukon First Nation government and Indigenous partners.
The newly-created position was established after recommendations by an employee committee on Indigenization at the college.
Southwick is a member of the wolf moiety and a citizen of Kluane First Nations and she joined the college back in 2008 as director of First Nations Initiatives.
Southwick says she's proud in supporting Yukon College's continued establishment of incorporating more First Nations ideas into the institution as well as work with other institutions to further continue education and training of Yukon First Nations education.
Before moving into her new position, her previous title was the executive director of First Nations Initiatives and Community, Innovation and Development.
