They've won the Roderick Haig-Brown Regional Prize for their book Our Story in Our Words.
This year’s BC and Yukon Book Prize winners list is out and Kwanlin Dün First Nation has taken home the Roderick Haig-Brown Regional Prize for their book Our Story in Our Words.
The book traces the heritage of Tagish Kwan and other people belonging to the Kwanlin Dün First Nation, from thousands of years ago to the present day.
Stories inside are told in Tagish, Southern Tutchone, Northern Tutchone, Tlingit and English.
The Roderick Haig-Brown Regional Prize is awarded annually to the author of the book which contributes the most to the enjoyment and understanding of the Yukon or British Columbia.
