Ted Laking emphasized his collaborative approach to governance, stating, "I'm committed to working together with others."
Ted Laking has announced his intention to seek the Yukon Party nomination in Porter Creek Centre.
This development comes as the Yukon Party prepares for the election, which must be held on or before November 3, 2025.
Laking, a former Whitehorse city councillor, boasts a wealth of experience in Yukon politics. His background includes serving as the President of the Association of Yukon Communities and working as the Chief of Staff and Director of Communications for the federal Minister of Environment.
Ted Laking emphasized his collaborative approach to governance, stating, "I'm committed to working together with others, because I firmly believe that the best results are achieved when people with diverse perspectives and ideas come together to find common ground and drive positive change."
When asked by CHON-FM's news reporter about his plans to advance reconciliation and implement the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's recommendations, Ted Laking emphasized the importance of meaningful dialogue. "If you assume a solution to a problem you fail," he stated.

The Yukon Party has been actively nominating candidates for the upcoming election. Recently, Yvonne Clarke was acclaimed as the candidate for Whistle Bend North, while Doris Anderson secured the nomination for Porter Creek North.
