Environment Yukon Adds Drones to List of Banned Hunting Tools

New regulations clarify use of drones for search of wildlife while hunting.

Environment Yukon is attempting to keep up with technology by clarifying that the use of drones for hunting is prohibited.

If a hunter does use a drone and spots wildlife, that person may not hunt that area for 48 hours.

Also, that person may not communicate the location of discovered wildlife, by use of drone to another person for 48 hours.

The department is expecting hunters not to be in possession of a drone while hunting.
