A regional competition was held in Whitehorse on the weekend in an activity called Dog Puller.
Dog Puller Canada
Yukon Dog Puller Regional Championships took place at Rotary Peace bark Park on Saturday.
Dog Puller is a relatively new dog sport that has gained great popularity in the world. It comes in two disciplines - Puller Running and Puller Jumping.

Races take place on a rated racing surface, each discipline lasts 90 seconds and has relatively simple rules. Contestants earn points for correct execution of the exercises. Both disciplines are evaluated separately.
Coach, Judge and President of Dog Puller Canada and dog trainer, Erika Rosza Atkinson, brought the sport to Canada after training in Ukraine where the sport was founded.
She formed a team of 25 athletes and started the first Canada Championships in Yukon 3 years ago. She holds 2 regional championships in a year and hopes to attend the world's Dog Puller competition in Prague, Czech Rep.
The sport is designed to be played by participants of any age group and dogs can start training at any point.
