The survey will be open until April 26, and in-person public information sessions will be held March 23-27 at various locations in Whitehorse.
The Government of Yukon is launching a public engagement process to gather feedback on the potential location of the new École Whitehorse Elementary School.
Starting February 26, residents can participate in a 10-minute online survey to share their thoughts on three possible site options. Notably, one of the proposed sites was initially considered under the previous Liberal government.
The survey will be open until April 26, and in-person public information sessions will be held March 23-27 at various locations in Whitehorse, including Hidden Valley Elementary School, CSSC Mercier, and Elijah Smith Elementary School.
According to a media release, the Department of Education will also engage with key partners and stakeholders to ensure a broad range of perspectives are heard. A What We Heard report will be shared publicly in June, summarizing feedback from all engagement activities.
École Whitehorse Elementary School is the oldest operating school in the Yukon and has been prioritized for replacement.
