405 pounds of de-boned meat, packed in cotton game bags, was found off a trail
Yukon conservation officers are urging the public to provide information regarding the discovery of a large quantity of discarded moose meat outside Dawson City.
On September 22, 405 pounds of de-boned meat, packed in cotton game bags, was found off a trail near kilometre 11 of the Top of the World Highway.
Conservation officer Shawn Hughes emphasized that the abandonment of this substantial amount of meat contravenes Yukon's Wildlife Act and demonstrates disregard for the animal.
Hughes appealed for assistance in identifying those responsible, requesting details on hunting activities, vehicles, or moose transportation in the area between September 15 and 22. The public can report information to the Yukon TIPP line at 1-800-661-0525.
