The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society has petition urging PM Trudeau to help protect Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society Yukon has launched a petition to protect the Porcupine Caribou Herd, which could be threatened by potential oil and gas drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
The nation-wide petition urges the Prime Minister to take a stand against the U-S Governments efforts to open ANWR. CPAWS says the petition already has 4000 signatures.
Premier Sandy Silver vows his government will do what it can to prevent any development, while the Vuntut Gwitch'in First Nation says it will use all diplomatic channels to aid in its lobbying effort to prevent drilling in ANWR, which is the calving grounds of the caribou.
