Yukon Government is providing $875,000 to implement a new tourism development strategy in the territory.
In the funding, $300,000 will go to support Indigenous tourism, $150,000 will be provided to improve tourism signage and $150,000 will go developing a tourism framework to provide enhanced measurable and sustainable growth in Yukon.
Other announcements include hiring a new task force to help with the strategies implementation, marketing Yukon as a year-round destination for tourism, and providing consultation with Yukoners regarding their vision of future tourism.
In a press release, Yukon Government says they'll be working with a steering commitee, tourism stakeholders and partners to implement the strategy over the coming months.
