
Since its inception in 2020, the Yukon Community Program pilot has facilitated the nomination of 42 candidates.
The Government of Yukon has announced that the Yukon Community Program pilot, a three-year initiative launched in 2020 to support employers and address labor shortages has ended. The program, which was extended for an additional two years in 2023, concluded on June 30, 2025, as planned.
The pilot allowed candidates to combine multiple part-time jobs to meet the full-time hour requirements for the Yukon Nominee Program. it specifically supported nominations for work in several Yukon communities, including Dawson, Carmacks, Carcross, Haines Junction, Watson Lake, and Whitehorse.
Since its inception in 2020, the Yukon Community Program pilot has facilitated the nomination of 42 candidates. According to a media release, the government said while the pilot has ended, employers and candidates can still access existing Yukon Nominee Program streams, including the Yukon Business Nominee Program, Critical Impact Worker, Skilled Worker, and Express Entry streams.
The Government of Yukon is now working with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to evaluate the success of the pilot and determine next steps to support Yukon employers.
