Official opening of the Learning Wing at the Carcross/Tagish First Nation Learning Centre
The learning wing of the Carcross/Tagish First Nation Learning Centre is the second phase of the Centre ($5.3 million Small Communities Fund project). It has been completed and totems poles are being installed in front of the Centre on July 27 in celebration of the completion of the entire facility.
Along with the totem pole raising to celebrate the completion of the entire facility, the learning wing will be officially opened on July 27.
Khà Shâde Héni Carvill, chief of the Carcross/Tagish First Nation as well as C/TFN Executive Council Members will speak first.
Attending the opening as well were the Honourable Larry Bagnell, Member of Parliament for Yukon, on behalf of the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities; the Honourable John Streicker, YTG Minister of Community Services.
