The Whitehorse Emergency Shelter has unveiled new Yukon First Nations artwork, bringing vibrancy and cultural significance to the space. The window installations by Heather Dickson (Carcross/Tagish First Nation) and Graham Everitt (Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in First Nation) reflect the territory's diverse Indigenous heritage.

"Art plays a powerful role in fostering cultural safety. By including Yukon First Nations art in the shelter, we are helping to ensure it feels inclusive and connected to the community," said Council of Yukon First Nations Grand Chief Math’ieya Alatini.

The initiative, a collaboration between CYFN and Connective, aims to create a welcoming environment for shelter residents. Amidst recent challenges, the artwork offers a reassuring message of hope and resilience.
