Yukon's Muslim community are happy to have a home to pray in, in Whitehorse
The first mosque opened Friday Oct. 1, in the territory, as leaders turned out to provide their support.
The mosque located on 2nd avenue had an open house inviting the whole crowd to see the newly renovated space, from what once was a trucking warehouse.
The Yukon Muslim community has been attending prayer and community gatherings in other churches and even apartment buildings since 2005.
Now, there is at least one mosque in every province and territory in the country.
