YTA says former Yukon Party gov broke the law in using temp positions on eight teachers.
The Yukon Teachers Association says the former Yukon government broke the law on classifing eight teachers as temprary for its own convenience and to save money.
The union says this was affirmed by an adjudicator. Catherine Mackwood, President of the YTA says its disgracefull what the former government did, adding they did it for years, despite a similar decision in 2013.
Mackwood says this victory is a clear indication that the territorial government must end the ongoing practice of using temporary employment to avoid creating permanent teaching jobs.
