Minister of Health and Social Services Pauline Frost was one keynote speaker.
The Yukon Medical Association held their 53rd general meeting today at the Coast High Country Inn today in Whitehorse.
The event ran from 8-4:20 and a keynote speaker included Minister of Health and Social Services Pauline Frost.
Dr. Mitra and Dr. Nickerson also discussed health issues ranging from treatments to burn injuries and facial traumas to different approaches to respiratory problems.
Minister Frost spoke specifically about achievements the current Liberal Government is tackling in regards to long waitlist times for common medical procedures such as cataracts and pressures local hospitals are facing throughout the territory as Yukon's population demographic gets older.
She mentioned some of her governments priorities and achievements so far at the meeting.
"Over the last several weeks in the House, I've provided details on areas of midwifery, the Opening of Whistle Bend Place...and the Thomson Center reablement."
Improvements to the Thomson Centre include 10 new long-term care bedrooms being put at the facility located in Whitehorse.
The Yukon Medical Association works collaboratively with it's members such as Yukon doctors to promote the highest level of professionalism regarding medical practice and accessible health for all Yukoner's in the territory.
