Crown wants public and media barred from courtroom to protect victims identity.
The Yukon Supreme Court is considering whether to have a closed sentencing hearing for a man who pleaded guilty to 19 charges of sexual assault against young girls.
A motion from the Crown Prosecution was put forward to Justice Ron Veale asking that the public and media be barred from the courtroom during sentencing.
The Crown cites there is highly sentsitive evidence in the cases, and wanting to ensure the priovacy of the young victims.
The Defence, nor the media have objected to the motion.
Police seized 58 videos and approximately 650 images of child pornography involving Yukon-based victims. Veale has reserved his decision.
