Conservation Officers warn to keep your pet safe.
Environment Yukon is warning pet owners in Whitehorse to be vigilant as Conservation Officers have been receiving reports of wolves in residential areas.
While authorities say its rare a wolf will attack humans, they will prey in domesticated animals.
Conservation officers warn to keep your pet indoors when possible. If you are walking your dog keep it on a leash and avoid forested areas from dusk to dawn when wolves are actively hunting. And if you approach a wolf, don't run, rather wave your arms in the air and make loud noises.
